Easy Cheesy Spaghetti Bake
I was thinking about what to have for dinner tonight and thought about the spaghetti pie that I have been thinking about making since I haven't made it in a while. But then I was thinking that I wanted to try something new. So I was browsing around at different blogs and stumbled upon Dunkin Cooking the Semi-Homemade Way and it just so happens that there was a recipe for cheesy spaghetti bake. I mean what's not to like about about pasta that has cheese in it and on it? When I saw it I knew I had to try it right away. So I invited my brother over for dinner and let me say that we ate a lot! It was so good! Much better than the spaghetti pie that I usually make. I only made a few changes to the recipe. Next time I may add a can of tomato sauce because I added more pasta and it ended up a little dry. This was such an easy recipe to make. I will definatly be making it again.
Easy Cheesy Spaghetti Bake
Adapted from Dunkin Cooking the Semi-Homemade Way
1 pound ground beef
1 jar pasta sauce
1 pound spaghetti noodles
2 cups shredded cheese (I used medium Cheddar and about 2 1/2-3 cups of cheese)
2 tablespoons steak seasoning
dried basil, oregano and Italian herb (I didn't measure but I probably used about 1/2 teaspoon of each. It's up to your taste so taste the sauce as you go.)
Preheat oven to 360 degrees F.
Cook the pasta according to the directions on the box.
Meanwhile brown ground beef over medium high heat. Once brown drain off any fat or liquid. Add the pasta sauce, dried herbs and steak seasoning to the meat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
When the pasta is done add it to the meat sauce and mix well. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of cheese and mix well. Transfer to a baking dish that has been oiled or sprayed with cooking spray. Press the pasta down into the dish and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Top with remaining cheese and melt under the broiler. Watch it carefully because it can burm quickly. Cut into squares and enjoy!
I love the corner pieces!
